360 Feedback - Nurses/Midwives

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has announced its proposal for the revalidation of all nurses and midwives to start in 2016. What does this mean for you?

Revalidation requires registered nurses and midwives to demonstrate every three years that they are up to date and fit to practise. As part of the revalidation process, everyone will be expected to provide evidence; one element of this is likely to be 360 feedback from colleagues and patients.

Equiniti 360° Clinical helps healthcare organisations and their staff get organised for the revalidation of doctors with minimum stress and time.  From our wealth of experience, we are anticipating that nurses and midwives are likely to be required to provide feedback that reflects the new NMC code of conduct. Whilst we have a validated nurse 360 questionnaire, we would like to perform further research this year to align it with the new code. We are looking for organisations that would like the opportunity to run a pilot for a group of nurses or midwives.

We are also researching how to adapt our appraisal and revalidation system for doctors, to be appropriate for nurses and midwifes. If you would like to see where we have got to so far and have an input into the design, please let us know.

If you would like more information on running a 360 pilot at your organisation or would like to provide feedback into the new nurse/midwife appraisal system please contact us at:
